That’s a question I’m seeing circulating around the ‘www’ more and more lately. Many folks are looking for game retailers for a box version of the game, it doesn’t exist. The only way to get a copy of Darkfall Online is through direct digital download – and it’s not just that easy.
The only place I’ve seen offering Darkfall for sale is directly through the Darkfall Online community forums. Apparently the sales go online for brief periods each day, starting around 2 PM EST and they sell out for the day fast. Adventurine is going to continue this approach until the demand for Darkfall widdles down a bit and they can get their servers more stable.
A ton of the folks the are trying to get in the game are from the United States, though servers right now are only available in Europe. If you are in the US and want to play you can, but you’ll experience at least a little latency in your connection to the server, most folks are reporting 200-250 ms pings. The real question is, what will happen when US servers go live? Will you be able to transfer your character to a server a little more local? I haven’t seen an official answer to that question but I’m guessing that Adventurine will offer some sort of character transfer, hopefully free!
There is the possibility that character transfers won’t be permitted – think about it. Large amounts of the player base suddenly migrating en mass out of the Euro servers. What will that do to the population that remains? Talk about a balance of power shift. We’ll have to wait and see how they handle transfers if at all. My guess is there will be transfers but probably pretty similar to how they are handling sales right now – a little at a time.

Also, a game I’m watching and waiting for (and soon writing about) is Mortal Online, might want to have a look at that as well – very similar to Darkfall and supposed to be out this Summer, probably about the same time Darkfall servers hit the US if not sooner.

Ok well when someone from here actually purchases some they will get a donation. Haven’t had anyone say anything besides Blackwings yet.
I was going to talk to him about posting up a thing on here so I can get rid of what I’m not using and give him a cut but he isn’t replying anymore so I guess that won’t happen.

I’m not to worried about taking donations – was just curious what your prices were. I would suggest you try putting your gold up for sale on PlayerAuctions.com or a similar site. Your prices are right about in range with theirs, you’ll be much more likely to secure a sale there than on this page – given that most of the people reading this haven’t been able to purchase the game yet.
You’ll have to pay them a cut of your profits though.
