Unless it was a stealth nerf, it hasn’t happened in the latest 3.02a patch for World of Warcraft – but it looks like it’s coming. Blizzard reps at Blizzcon let slip that soon players will be able to earn experience as well as honor in PvP. They are apparently making the change not to combat twinks in WoW, but instead to combat losing their player base to Warhammer Online.
There is no mention of when the change will go into effect or how it will work. Ideally for us who enjoy playing twinks, you could choose not to earn experience in PvP. However that option is very unlikely as twinks have always been a thorn in the side of the average WoW player. You would think Blizzard would find a happy medium for allowing twinks to continue playing in their style or risk losing them as players as well.
I personally have 5 twinks running that I spent a lot of time and gold building and don’t really feel like leveling them all up to level 80 just to do raids for the rest of my life. Nor does playing in level 80 battlegrounds exclusively sound appealing. Most likely this change will mean the end of my WoW tenure and I’ll be moving over to WAR. If they are just going to try to mimic the PvP appeal of WAR anyway, why stay? I’ll just go play the game that was built around PvP.
On a side note, it appears there are a lot of cool changes going into WoW in the meantime in patch 3.02a. There are going to be major changes to the druid talent tree that should make it fun to play as well as a complete replacement of the Hunter Pet training system with a new and very cool Pet Talent Tree.

Well thats 2 years of Twink Knowladge and lore out the window. I will keep my twinks as relics and as a reminder of grloriouse days, and hope for a better future were XP for pvp will be removed, and my pvp toys can march out on BG’s and wreck havok amongst regulars!
