The MUCH anticipated (so much so that many still consider it vaporware) Darkfall Online was scheduled for a January 22nd, 2009 release in Europe. Adventurine has again pushed back the release date for the MMO that has fans drueling over it’s sandbox style play. This time the release is only pushed back slightly to February 25th.
Not to fret though, on January 22nd you can still jump in and play as Adventurine is going to use their original launch date for trial players to come in and help them stress test their servers. Folks have been eagerly awaiting the open beta of this game, rumored to start one week before the actual release – which had many believing it was going to begin yesterday. That didn’t happen and it looks like open beta for Darkfall Online may be a myth. Either way, the trial lasting approximately one month is basically the same thing.
No word yet on how many people will be able to download and test Darkfall Online on January 22nd, we’ll have to wait and see if they hold true to the dates this time and find out how many can get in. Likewise, still absolutely no word yet on a North American release date. Though I suspect you’ll find many Americans playing in European servers as soon as the game goes live.
