Age of Conan: Letter from the Director

Gaute Godager over at Funcom wrote a letter to the community today discussing some of the upcoming changes to Age of Conan along with some additions and fixes.  The first bit of good news is that Funcom seems pretty dedicated to making this as smooth of a launch as possible.  There have already been some pretty significant bumps in the early stages of the game with a lot of technical issues, some of which are not yet resolved.  But Funcom is trying to correct that by increasing their overall Community staff from Quality Assurance testers to Community Satisfaction reps who will aid in communicating with players having problems getting into or playing the game.

Additionally, Funcom has found weak spots in their leveling and quest content, specifically at the end of the 20’s and 50 levels.  They will be adding via patch roughly one quest per level with complete voice over starting at around level 20.  This summer they plan to launch a massive outdoor region for players in their late 50’s to help bridge the content and leveling gap.  Last but not least, they are revamping some changes to the PVP system to add increased penalties for ganking much lower level players and will finally be turning on the PVP leveling system.
