Now it should be really no surprise that warriors are one of the most popular twink classes in World of Warcraft - they are one of the most powerful…and expensive.
If you don’t have a healthy supply of gold on hand or a way to get it this is probably not the twink for you. Then again, which one is right? Okay, assuming you got the two thousand plus gold it’s going to take, first thing you want to do is pick your class. Different classes obviously make better warriors than others so pick carefully, for my twink I went with an Orc Warrior named Abrahms. Yes, I named him after the tank.
Of course, the most important aspect of a twink, in fact the thing that makes you a twink is your gear. However, there are other areas that often get overlooked by even seasoned twinks. For example, defense rating - once a twink hits their desired level, in my example that’ll be level 49, they stop fighting mobs to try to stop getting experience. This is a good thing to do because you don’t want to ding 50 but on the flip side you will never max out your defense rating in battlegrounds. Solution? Find yourself a healer and go out to an area with a horde of low level mobs and intimidate them without killing them so they’ll attack you. If you gather up enough and just let them beat on you eventually your defense rating will max out making you the ultimate twink. Five points of defense rating could potentially mean life or death in battlegrounds.
Now, on to the gear. For a warrior, most of the equipment you are going to need is probably going to be purchased off of the auction house. This is what makes warrior twinks so expensive, most of the better gear is bind on equip not bind on pickup, so most of this gear is random world drops and not instance boss drops. The plus side to this is you’ll only need to run a few instances to get the bind on pickup gear you’ll need to complete your ultimate warrior. The only stats you’ll need to worry about for your warrior are agility and strength with a little stamina thrown in for good measure. This will give you high attack power and critical hit chance along with improve armor and high health.
Head: [Sunscale Helmet]
This is the first piece of auction house gear you’ll be gathering. With it you’ll also want to buy a Lesser Arcanum of Voracity to add either +8 agility (critical hit chance) or +8 strength (attack power). I opted for the agility on mine but you can go either way really for a warrior. Attack power may prove in the end to be a smarter build because it adds damage on every hit but I wanted my build to add critical hits more often. The Lesser Arcanum of Voracity can be found on the auction house as well.
Neck: [Woven Ivy Necklace]
This is one of only two quest items you’ll be needing to gather. This is a reward for a level 44 quest in the Hinterlands called “Wanted: Vile Priestess Hexx and Her Minions“. This necklace provides healthy amounts of all three of the stats you are looking for: strength, agility and stamina.
Shoulders: [Wyrmslayer Spaulders]
Get used to this, another item to buy off of the auction house. These plate armor shoulders also add an abundant amount of strength, agility and stamina.
Back: [Blackveil Cape]
Lucky for you this is the only item you’ll need to venture into an instance to gather. Almost eliminating the need to recruit high level help getting your twink items. Unlucky for you, this item can only be found in Blackrock Depths. You’ll need to recruit a friend or guildmate to go in and clear the instance up until High Interrogator Gerstahn. Once the path is clear, enter the instance and get close for the final fight, let your helper kill the Interrogator but make sure you do the looting! It’s a bind on pickup item so you’re twink will need to do the picking up, got it? Good! Make sure you and your help are prepared to run the instance several times, it took me a total of 7 times running it before I got the cape to drop. Add to this item a +12 agility enchant and you’ll end up getting +6 strength and a wopping +26 agility out of it.
Chest: [Hydralick Armor]
An auction house piece of plate armor that has a very healthy amount of stamina and strength with some agility and fire resistance thrown in for good measure. This piece won’t be overly expensive as it is fairly common but be prepared to pay upwards of 100 gold for it if the seller realizes it’s a twink item. The two most common enchants for a twink on this item are +150 health or my personal favorite +6 to all stats, which adds 60 health plus the additional strength and agility to boot.
Wrist: [Berserker Bracers]
This, along with your boots and belt are probably the easiest items to get a hold of. They are PVP rewards for playing in battlegrounds. You can get these after you are done gathering the rest of your items or you can do what I did and get them as soon as you ding 40 by playing as a lowbie in the battlegrounds to make the rest of your grind easier with good gear. You’ll want to add either +12 strength or +24 attack power to these. The +12 strength adds +24 attack power but it also increased your block rating, if you ever choose to use a shield as a flag runner. Either way you can’t go wrong but I opted for the strength.
Hands: [Plated Fist of Hakoo]
Another auction house item, expect to pay under a hundred gold for this little gem. In it’s natural state it adds equal amounts (+10) of stamina, strength and agility. Everything a growing boy needs. Spice it up with an additional +15 strength enchant to really put the sting in your swing.
Belt: [Defiler's Plate Girdle]
Another PVP reward item for doing what twinks do best, battlegrounds. This item adds both strength and stamina and although it doesn’t add agility it does add critical strike chance which is really what you are after with agility anyway, so it hits all your marks. If you go the way I went when leveling and get your PVP reward items early on, which are essentially free, to help you grind out the rest of your levels; be sure to be smart about it. When you pick your PVP rewards you’ll be able to choose between your belt, your bracers and your boots. In other words, if you already have a halfway descent set of bracers and boots and an aging belt, get the belt first to keep you at your peak. Replace the weakest equipment as you level up to keep the leveling as fast as possible.
Pants: [Elemental Rockridge Leggings]
These are the first choice for many twink Warriors as it adds +20 strength and +18 stamina along with some critical strike chance to boot. Not a bad mix, the downside to these is that they are a rare drop off of Princess Theradras in Maraudon, with only a 15-24% chance of dropping. For my personal twink warrior, I chose a close match off of the AH. If you can find these in my setup I’d recommend the [Revenant Leggings] of the Bear. These are only a green item and the Revenant Leggings are random enchantments, but if you can find ‘of the bear’ you’ll end up with +15 strength AND +15 stamina, which is pretty close to the Rockledge pants and much easier to acquire. They are plate armor so you’ll also add 435 to your total armor class. Add a Nethercleft Leg Armor for an extra +40 stamina and +12 agility or Nethercobra Leg Armor for +50 attack power (equivalent to +25 strength) and +12 critical strike rating (equivalent to +12 agility).
Feet: [Defiler's Plate Greaves]
The last piece of armor you’ll be getting as a PVP reward, though not the last item as you’ll soon see when we have a look at your fingers. These boots add good amounts of strength, agility and stamina to your build along with a nice bonus for PVP, increased run speed. For a twink to get those high kill rates, a predator needs to be faster than it’s prey, yes? Tack on an additional +12 agility with an enchant to really pack a punch.
Fingers: [Legionnaire's Band]
A PVP reward ring once again, which keeps your total cost of building this twink down. On my twink I actually went with two of these, one for each hand. Problem is you can’t get two of the same level. So I got one from the 30-39 battleground bracket and one from the 40-49 bracket. The lower bracket ring is of course weaker than the other but not by much. The 39 ring is +8 strength and agility and +5 stamina. The 49 is +10 strength, +9 agility and +6 stamina. So not a major difference. There is a ring you can buy in the auction house that is a little closer to the 49 bracket ring called the [Aquamarine Signet] of the Monkey. I may upgrade to that eventually but it wasn’t a big enough difference when I created my twink to spend the gold.
Trinkets: [Rune of the Guard Captain]
Ah finally, your other quest item. This trinket adds both to your attack power and your hit rating, both important attributes for a warrior. Luckily for you, it’s in the same zone and level as your previous quest item. This is a reward for a level 44 Hinterlands Quest called “Job Opening: Guard Captain of Revantusk Village“. For your other trinket, go with your factions Insignia trinket to help break fear and polymorph.
Sidearm: [Precisely Calibrated Boomstick]
Although you’ll probably rarely fire a shot, it’s a good damage sidearm to have on you. The real bonus to this item is carrying it will add +14 agility to your build. Definitely worth having around. You’ll be getting this item off of the auction house for a fair amount. I got mine for around 150 gold.
Main Weapon: [Kang the Decapitator]
Kang is the first choice for any good twink warrior but it comes at a high price. Kang is a rare epic and is usually quickly snatched up if it lands on the auction house. Kang is something you’ll want to start keeping an eye out for now if you plan on building a warrior and buy it as soon as you can. I started looking the day I started building my warrior and only saw it twice. The first time my warrior was still in his 30’s when I saw Kang. It was up for auction with no buyout and I got into a fierce bidding war against another buyer. The bids got up to 600 gold before the auction was removed from the auction house, turned out the other buyer met the seller and negotiated some off the market deal to get it. I finally got my hands on Kang when a guild mate saw it on the AH and bought it for me when I was off line, otherwise I’d probably still be looking. I ended up only paying 450 gold thanks to a low buyout. The enchant you’ll want to put on this weapon varies to taste. Myself and most other twinks tend to go with the Mongoose enchant. Not only does this have a cool visual lightning effect but it has a nice chance on hit bonus too. Occasionally, which actually happens fairly regularly, on hit you will gain a slight increase in attack speed and an additional 120 agility. When Mongoose procs you’ll be critically hitting almost constantly making short work out of your enemy, even other twinks. Another good enchant is Savagery. Another cool blood dripping effect comes with this enchant but the real bonus is in the additional 70 attack power (equivalent to +35 strength). The difference between this and Mongoose is the attack power is always on, meaning it’s not a chance on hit so you’ll always be taking full advantage of your enchantment.
Last but certainly not least are your warriors talents. The best build in my opinion is 35 points in Arms and 5 in Fury. The Fury points should all be put into the Cruelty talent, giving you an additional 5% chance of landing a critical strike, this 5% when added to the agility and critical strike chance of your items and enchantments will push your overall critical strike chance up to almost 26%. Meaning 1 out of roughly 4 hits lands a critical strike. When your crits hit for an average of 1000 damage, you can see how important this is. Add to that the Mongoose effect and your crit chance goes up to almost 39%.
Your Arms build should give you just enough points to get to the Mortal Strike talent. This is a great ability for a twink warrior in Warsong Gulch to kill flag runners. As you probably already know, flag runners are usually well protected and the most often healed players making them hard to take down. Cripple the runner with your Mortal Strike for a large damage hit, even if it doesn’t critical hit and the Mortal Strike will also cut any heals on that player in half for the next 10 seconds, which for your ultimate warrior should be all the time you need to make mince meat out of the runner and save the day for your side. Ready to be a hero?

This was great guide. I’ve been looking for a guide such as this. I understand that warriors are the most dominate classes. I’ve been dieing to find this and to make a twink. I praise you for this. Please visit my site above and please help me more, I’d like to find out how to faster level my toon.

Amazing guide. I already had a twink 49 mage and hunter (all 70 now, I tend to be twink when leveling up), and this was the best warrior twink resource I found.
With the exception of the Weapon. I still think Executioner’s Cleaver is better ( +slower, +23 str, + 10 hit rating - http://thottbot.com/i13018 ), which makes slight more DPS than Kang, as Kang needs to proc to make that sweet 500 damage.

I’d have to agree that the Cleaver is a great weapon and was really torn between it and Kang. I kept Kang because I had already purchased it and didn’t want to part with it. I currently have Mongoose which procs often but was considering a possible change for more steady DPS to something like Savagery…still haven’t decided on that.

I enchanted Cleaver with Savagery. Even Savagery offering a steady DPS, I think between Mongoose and Savagery is a matter of preference and coice of fun then: you can kill more along the time as are doing more DPS with all hits or can kill more instantly with the high crits as Mongoose procs.

KANG SUX, get yuorself Rage hammer almost as much base dmg as Kang + prock ability that adds 20 dmg and 50 haste for 30 sec.
Your cape Sux to, get the one from Mara 10 stamina 12 agility
Calibrated boomstik is also an owerepriced bullshit for a warrior, get a skull splitting crossbow its another 3 strength and 14 AP.
DONT GO FOR CRIT! GO for max AP
The build you mention is also big bull, 33/04/03
YOU will be changing stances alot, otherwise theres no point of puting point inti improved intercept.
Try playing with a Warrior twink befor posting all kinds of nonsence!

I appreciate your response and agree Ragehammer is not a bad weapon - but I still prefer Kang for when it doesn’t proc the base damage is more impressive for steady and crit damage. Kang also has a nice proc of 560 bleed damage.
On the cape, you are just wrong - unless you are going for a stam build. I wouldn’t give up 6 str for 10 stam. Strength is by far the most important stat for a damage dealing warrior twink.
On the sidearm, I think I’d have to agree with you the crossbow looks like a better choice. I’ll be getting that and changing my build.
I happen to love my build and do play it often, as a warrior twink…before I posted all this nonsense. Thanks again for commenting, I appreciate the advice on the crossbow.

Very happy for your honesty Black.
But the cape issue is still on
Stamina is SUPER vital wen fighting Shadow priest Warlock and enh. shaman twinks
Vs shadowpriest it helps you escape (in least of cases) without suffocating from dots (don’t even try to fight one of those 1v1, youll die tiered and he will have 90-100% on)
Vs Warlock lets you live longer while you pown dat nasty thing id say you have better chances of downing a lock by having more HP then AP.
VS shaman same thing as with the lock, but luck on crits play vital role her, if you don’t get a few good crits in a row that dual wielding monster will mush you down and wipe his weapons with your scalp.
But after the WotLK pre patch is out you can pretty much relax about building up HP. I’m a miner and with mining skill of 300+ you get a 300HP bonus + there’s a talent in arms tree that increases your total HP and strength by 4% so that covers both needs.
Ride now i pack up around 3780+ hp or so and still able to crit clothies for 1.1k with MS. I still think i die to fast wen faced by a shamy twink or shadow priest twink.
So after prepatch goes live, i should be packing around 4250+ HP (talant + mining bonus) and go with build 40/0/0
That should give me +10% dmg bonus to MS and CD reduce to 5 sec, + all the CD reduction to Overpower candy

Also the best pant for a warrior is actualy, one of the “Most wanted” items for this bracket is
Silvershell Leggings
Binds when equipped
Legs Plate
470 Armor
+20 Strength
+10 Agility
+12 Stamina
Durability 100 / 100
Requires Level 46
Item Level 51
They rae not BoP, so you cna use leg armor on it. By FAR FAR better then random pants from ah with 15 stamina and 15 stength.
Its a rare drop from any mob in Sunken temple with drop chance of 0.01%
P.S. and you gona hate me for this one, i senn them once on AH for 225g, and i was to bitter to pay that, then i was wating for 5 moth and got them for 32g HAHAHA
