Hello Ladies and Gentlemen. Today we are going to twink probably the most versatile, and overpowered twink at any bracket and in any class. The holy paladin in the 29 bracket is the rarest twink, because no one wants to heal, but I promise you if you commit yourself to making this healing machine (and also get one of your friends to make a bodyguard twink) you will never regret it, team mates will LOVE you and opponents will be enraged like never before. This thing is the best of the BEST healers, and also kicks an extra punch to aid DPS’ers when needed too. So if you’re ready to enter the world of the unstoppable 29 Holy paladin, then hang on tight.
We will start by choosing a race:
Horde: The only, and in my opinion best racial choice for a 29 holy paladin is Blood elf. Mana drain will keep your pool up and running when needed to as long as there’s something hostile around that works on mana. Spell lock is an AWESOME way to stop mage’s and help your bodyguards to get rid of enemy healers. +5 to all resists is also a very awesome bonus because when combined with resistance potions you can get all your resists almost to fair, making those nasty ranged casters wonder how come you don’t take so much dmg.
Alliance: The best race for ally Holy 29 pala twink, would be a dwarf, because of his racial stone skin, will help you a lot when flag running. Also when in healer mode you will be wearing some items that are cloth leather, this makes your armor drop a lot, so this racial will help you when you got some nasty rogue on your back.
Now let’s get on to your gear:
What you will need to worry about is Stamina and Intellect! (Don’t worry about healing power, enchants will cower that a lot better then you think)
Head slot:
Best choice: Frostreaver Crown (Edit: [Whisperwind Headress])
How to get: AH
Availability: you can find one of those on AH once in a while, so you MUST actively check (Estimated average cost around 115 to 150 gold)
This is the best choice for you because this piece gives 15 stamina and its mail not some flimsy leather or “squishee” cloth. Yes I do know there’s a cloth hood with 33 healing and some intellect, but as I told you above “you don’t have to worry about healing power”, just trust me on this one.
Snap a 100 HP enchant on the head dress.
Shoulder slot:
Main choice: Batwing Mantle
How to get: Boost to Razorfen Kraul
Availability: 27.65% drop chance, from Blind Hunter.
Easy mode her, this is best cloth shoulders, 10 intellect 4 spirit and 4 spell dmg.
Of specc: Sparkleshell Mantle
How to get: AH
Availability: Pretty often seen (Estimated price around 125-200g)
You gona need this one for flag running, no questions asked!
(Not mandatory)
Chest slot:
Best choice: Raptor Hunter Tunic
How to get: Chain Quest
Availability: As long as you can get a high lvl friend to help you with chain quest you have no problems at all getting this piece.
Ok this our best choice because, this thing packs A HUGE amount of stamina (16), and can be enchanted with +6 to all stats. I know there are some other cloth robes of lvl 35+ and whatever but they don’t have as much overall stats as this one.
Leg slot:
Best choice: Phalanx Leggings of the Eagle/Healing (remember they have to be with 7 intellect and SEVEN stamina, not with 6)
How to get: AH
Availability: Just random green pants, so getting those for “easy mode” amount of gold would be no problem.
And yes we spank a 35 spellpower and 20 stamina [Runic Spellthread] on this one!
Wrist slot:
Best choice: Gallan Cuffs
(Edit – Alliance): [Arcane Runed Bracers] with +15 Spellpower Enchant
How to get: Quest
Availability: its easy mode with an lvl 70 to help you do the quest.
Ok now you ask me, “Why are those the best bracers?” Because it’s a lvl 35+ item “BO YEAH”, and it gives us what we want: stamina and intellect!
Snap a Superior Healing enchant on this one, that’s 30 healing and 10 spell dmg more.
Hands slot:
Best choice: Razzeric’s Racing Grips
How to get: Quest line
Availability: If you can get a lvl 70 to aid you on all of the 10 quests, this should be easy pickings.
These gloves are best gloves for our pally because it’s the only 35+ item lvl gloves that have stamina on them. And 35+ item means we can apply Major Healing enchant that will ad another 35 healing and 12 spl dmg.
Main hand weapon slot:
Best choice: Skullbreaker
How to get: Quest
Availability: And once again, you need aid from an lvl 70, other then that its easy mode.
Now this piece of equipment is what really gonna power boost our paladin.
If you know me, you would guess that this item is a 35+ and OH YES, we can empower it with Major Healing adding us a whooping 81 healing and 27 spl dmg.
So if you trusted me when I was telling you that you should relax about getting spl dmg & healing items, and all your healing will be covered by chants, by now you should have a NON squishee healing bot with 212+ healing power.
Shield slot:
Best choice: Marbled Buckler
How to get: Quest
Availability: once more, just get a lvl 70 player to help you and you should be fine.
Very nice shield with 35+ lvl, so snap 18 stamina on this one and we are done her! (Note, if you do notice that you’re running out of mana to fast and you do have a bodyguard twink friend, then change it to 12 intellect)
Ring:
How to get: Scarlet monastery drop
Availability: around 3.5% drop chance
This is the lowest lvl epic item as I know, and its JUST AWESOME, the freezing proc rate is awesome, and it also works vs throwing attacks and hunter shots. And then we got 10 stamina, yahoo!
This ring is just must have for a healer in my opinion! (Especially for one like you, I can imagine that after 5-10 min every opponent player will go for you on sight!)
Waist slot:
Best choice: Moss Cinch
How to get: Last boss in Blackfathome deeps BFD
This belt is better by every stat then the paladin pvp belt. Much more intellect & one more stamina.
Neck:
Best choice: Cerulean Talisman of the Eagle
How to get: AH
Availability: It’s a green world drop, so just keep checking the AH, and you should be able to snatch one for a few gold. (Notice when browsing for this item, you must buy the one with 5 stamina and 5 intellect)
Now we got pvp rewards:
Feet slot:
Defiler’s Lamellar Greaves or Highlander’s Lamellar Greaves: snap a 7 stamina on these
This is a very good item because it grants us a minor speed boost, so we can concentrate on chanting it with stamina.
Back slot:
Battle Healer’s Cloak: out of useful chants, there’s only superior defense and dodge, to make you live longer.
This is a nice healing back, and the only nice healing back for this lvl, so i see no reason not to take it.
Ring slot:
Also a nice ring, with mana per 5 and some spell dmg, and also stamina, its also easy to get since we only need to play pvp.
Trinket 1:
Insigna of the horde, is Must have for any pvp player, no matter twink or lvl 70. Its also one of the items that takes a pretty long time to get.
Trinket 2:
Gurubashi Arena Grand Master. This is hardest item to get, you gonna need a few lvl 70′s (actually the more lvl 70 friends the better, I had 2 resto shamans, a rogue and a mage to assist me with getting my last arena master trinket, to assure the victory). I want to add that this is a must have trinket for any twink at any lvl. At 29 its still very overpowered so it will be your second back up if bubble time fails.
Glyphs
Major: [Glyph of Flash of Light]
Minor: [Glyph of Blessing of Kings]
Now game play tips:
You always stay around other ppl.
You always stay at the back, front line is for your body guard and other gun meat.
When you have chosen a good location were you can reach everyone with your healing spells – you cast Consecration, and move to the front of the affected area, this will ensure you wont get back stabbed or ambushed by a rogue, so remember when grounding yourself for a long stand always do Consecration.
If you see a rogue go stealth, and you have a feeling he will go for you, then consecration and blessing of freedom.
The rest, is just usual, buff everyone around you, use Hammer of Justice to escape or stop opponents.
Talant tree 20/0/0
Tier 1: 5 Spiritual Focus
Tier 2: 3 Healing Light / 5 Divine Intellect / 2 Unyielding Faith
Tier 3: 5 Illumination
Bodyguard:
We got 3 classes to choose from: Shaman, Arms Warrior or Affliction Warlock.
With Shaman being best warrior second best and warlock third best.
Shaman:
Shaman is an excellent choice because of his grounding totem. Its an immense help when running flags + shaman kicks a nice punch when geared properly for dps, to get anything off your back. And all the other totems combined with your auras will make a very good combination.
Warrior:
Warrior is also a good choice he can use hamstring to slow down enemies. His shouts do not benefit you in any way so theres no mutual buffing like with the shaman, but you can buff the warrior very well. Also if properly geared for dps and with you behind his back casting Freedom, its prety much a NO stop Demolishing team.
Warlock:
The warlock is the whorst choice because, he cant slow enemies like warrior or shaman and must use fear.
There’s also no real buffing thing going on here like with a warrior or shaman.
Ok so I guess you are thinking, “Then why should I play with a warlock?” The answer is in the warlocks drain tanking and life tapping, as long as you can heal the warlock he can DoT everything around, and drain tank giving you some feedback, sooner or later everyone will die from DoTs.
And in the end I just want to say that as a healer on bg’s you can play with any class as long as its specced for DPS, i just think that above listed classes work the best.

November 22nd, 2008 at 5:53 pm
Do you have anything to back up your statment?
Do you know the meaning of a word twink in WoW?
Answer is: Twinks are player characters who have gained powerful gear for their level through enhancements such as expensive weapon enchants, leg patches and BoE/BoP greens, blues or epics. The common goal of a twink is to “complete” it with the best gear possible and pit them against other twinks, though some people use twinks as means to overpower those who don’t twink.
Dose my guide not match general twink description?
I think it dose.

if u know an alternative for it pls post it as comment here with the enchant i should do on it
January 10th, 2009 at 10:15 am
Ohhh my, this is the whorst outcome! Theres is no way out of this! All lvl 35+ wep for 29 twinks are quest rewards, what you could do is find another wep with usefull stats and try to get the ultra rare and ultra expensive 30 spell power chant.
January 15th, 2009 at 6:31 am
and where or how would i find this rare enchant?
is it worth it or should i make another healtwink?
January 15th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
I dont know what server you are playing on, if its post pre TBC server then chanses of someone having that chant are slim. Second thing is, the chant only grants you 30 spell power and not 40, so you lose 10 points there. But you can gain on something by picking another weapon.
I will take a look and try to find a good weapon with good stats. But even if i do find something that will cover for loss of 10 spell power theres still a small problem of finding a person with 30 spell dmg chant.
If you give me the name of your twink ill take a look in armory, because if you collected everything exept for the weapon it will be shame to make a new twink and throw this one in a garbage bin.
BTW tnx alot for trying to make this twink
January 16th, 2009 at 6:41 am

Yeah, I’ll have to agree with the previous poster. I am have a 29 Holy Paladin twink who is in far better gear. Link: (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Smolderthorn&n=Zibba) Ideally you want to focus on +spellpower while maintaining good hp/mana. I can out heal everyone I come across and just chug a mana potion if I ever run out of mana. If you are looking to make a 29 Holy twink just copy my gear and if you have questions feel free to contact me in game
[wowarmory char="Zibba" realm="Smolderthorn" talents="0" profs="1" linkback="0" top="1" gear="1" achievs="1" apoints="0" model="1"]
January 27th, 2009 at 6:39 pm
You have almost same gear set up.
I was directly copying my friends twink after trying it out, and he played WoW since vanila, and twinked all this time, i just trusted him.
I’m just gona fix a few things her, it all needs a renew after WotLK rellice anyways.
The legs are definetly going out. I might think about the head, because the spell power gogs offer alot of spell power but they offer no protection at all, using both gogs anf crown is a good idea.
January 30th, 2009 at 5:23 am
Yeah. This guide is severly in need of updating, and a spell/fact checker. First of all, go with spell power over all else. Stam is great, and should be taken where possible, but the spell power is a huge plus when you can push it upwards of 400 to 500. A proper group setup will keep you from harm. If you’re pugging, well, you’re pugging. Expect to be left alone to die. Second, the part about the warlock “drain tanking”…Warlocks aren’t tanking anything outside of PvE. PvP game mechanics don’t work like that. If you do have a lock guarding you, do the best you can to keep you and the lock topped off while his DoTs and dps burn down your attackers. As far as warrior defenders go, much can be said for prot warriors stacking block. The amount of damage they can do with their shield is absolutely rediculous. Melee can’t touch them and casters better hope they can keep their distance. Shaman make a good choice mainly because if you’re the target they can heal you, and if they are you can heal them. If you’re getting double teamed…hope for the best and get the rest of your group around you.
I also would like to point out that while the paladin is a diverse class, if your intent is to be a healer dont even consider being a flag runner as there will be classes out there that will shut you down regardless of your gear if you’re not specifically built for flag running. Best thing you can do is find a group of friends and build a nice team setup for premades. Paladins make excellent flag runners, but you’re going to want to make sure all of your gear, enchants, spec, spells ~ everything, are just right. Alot of times you can’t change them mid-fight, and you can often do your team a great disservice attmepting to run out a flag with little to no support (if you’re built to heal, who’s healing you?). Granted my word isnt law, but just consider your end goal during the process of building your twink. It makes all the difference.

Thats very good, feed back.
I want to ask you if your her to stay, because 2 heads is better than one
February 20th, 2009 at 8:54 am
29 pally on the alliance side may want the C recent of Forlorn spirits. It’s a quest item you can get at 26 but has an item level of 35–which means you can put BC enchants on it (IE +40 spell damage).
March 3rd, 2009 at 1:53 am
Minor: [Glyph of Blessing of Kings]
wy u use this?
U dont skill it in the tree..
March 14th, 2009 at 2:58 am
As of patch 3.1, Blessings of Kings will no longer be a talent and will be trainable by any spec.
March 26th, 2009 at 3:24 am
So the glyph is no longer viable? That kind of sucks, I’ll look for a replacement – thanks for the tip.
March 26th, 2009 at 7:58 am
I would like to tell you Thanks you alot for your Guide, Helped me alot
But i have a problem.. about the Skullbreaker, i took a look on Thottbot and WowHead.. and both says that it is from a Horde Quest. Could you help me to find a better weapon for Alliance?
Thanks you alot.
April 1st, 2009 at 7:10 am
Scroll up. Alliance weapon = Crescent of Forlorn Spirits. Do the quest, get the axe, get the BC spell power enchant, figure out the math later.
April 7th, 2009 at 2:21 am
Also, there is a green ring that is 5int 5spell power that is a nice-un. I prefer it over the adviser ring.
April 7th, 2009 at 2:27 am
ALSO with WOTLK out, the best shoulders have changed. You wanna get the Stone Keeper Shard ones, for all twinks, seeing as you can put +30stam and 15 res on it.
April 14th, 2009 at 11:10 am
haha, Dosage, you were close, but they took away the shoulder chant, it no longer works, gotta be 70 to use. You were close because, you don’t want the ones from Stone Keeper Shards, you want the Emblem of Heroism, Dreadmist Mantle.
April 24th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
i just think holy pallys are gay as aids !
May 25th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
“Ideally you want to focus on +spellpower while maintaining good hp/mana” True but your character could be better. You have 158sp, you can get away with around 118 which is roughly 280 FoL’s. This allows you to get health/mana around 2k each (before buffs) which, with the new nerfing of holy pallys (decreased Illumination and Divine Intellect) means greater time spamming FoL’s. That’s just my preferred gameplay, healing all day without the care of mana. Also roll a Human Pally, the free pvp trinket racial/perception is fkn sweet!
