It’s of course all just speculation and educated, or uneducated as the case may be, guessing. But there are a few things we do know about the Blizzard trailer – most important of which is that this is a teaser for the announcement of an upcoming new game title from Blizzard. That means what it is not is an announcement for Wrath of the Lich King release date – which the ice block seemed to indicate in the beginning.
The two leading theories right now are a new MMORPG – “World of StarCraft” and a long over-do sequel to the Diablo series, Diablo 3. But in reality that’s all just the most popular guesses out there. It could be a Diablo based MMO just as easily as a StarCraft based but who’s to say. It could even be something completely new and not an MMO or Strategy game.
One thing is for sure and that is the gamer population is buzzing with anticipation over tidbits of news from the upcoming announcement – which as fast as the ice is melting should be announced at this weekend’s 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational in Paris, France.
