Diablo 3: And the Heavens Shall Tremble

Blizzard did a 180 turn on us and went from ice to fire to announce Diablo III: And the Heavens Shall Tremble.  The game will not be the next-gen MMO Blizzard has been working on, my bet is still on Starcraft for the theme of that title.  But that’s not to say Diablo III won’t be everything Diablo fans are looking for in the next version of the game.

They are using the havoc engine for Diablo III which is the same graphics engine being used for the development of StarCraft II.  Some of the standout new features of this rendition of the series is a more interactive, destructable environment.  Players will need to use the terrain and object around them to their advantage while laying waste to the massive horde of hell spawn that awaits them.

Five classes will be included in the game - two of which have already been announced:  The Barbarian was introduced in Diablo II but has been completely overhauled to give it a whole new feel in Diablo III.   A new class making it into this edition is the otherwordly Witch Doctor giving gamers a whole new set of abilities to lay waste with.  Like the other two titles, Diablo 3 will be playable over Battle.net.
