Yeah you heard me. If you were enjoying the battle in Preview Weekend, you’re automatically invited into “Preview Weekend+,” apparently a “head start” on OPEN BETA which was to open this coming Sunday. Here’s the official statement from Mythic themselves:
WAR is Coming and the world is ready. Hundreds of thousands of players will descend upon the Age of Reckoning this Sunday, September 7th.
In order to make this world-wide event the best it can be we’re welcoming all Preview Weekend attendees back for two more days to rev things up and get the party started. We invite all Preview Weekend players to join us for Preview Weekend+ this Friday, 9/5 and Saturday, 9/6 starting tomorrow morning.
This epic weekend will be one to remember as you herald in Open Beta and the Age of Reckoning to the entire world!
The tides of WAR are coming…we’ll see you on the battlefield!
I’ve recently purchased some new RAM and I now meet the requirements to play, so hopefully all of my issues will be fixed and you will see me there, as I could not make it in to Preview Weekend due to computer issues.
Due to Tropical Storm Fay, I have spent a very lazy day just laying around. I finally mosied over and turned on my computer to find a more than welcome email sitting in my inbox. It has come time for WAR Preview Weekend! The email I received was my Preview Weekend Invitation. It read as follows:
Greetings!
It is our pleasure to invite you to the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Preview Weekend taking place this Friday, August 22nd thru Monday, August 25th. Join thousands of your fellow players and experience the Age of Reckoning for the first time as you adventure through two tiers of content across three campaigns.
This is an invite-only event, so don’t delay in preparing for WAR and be one of the first to engage in the thrill and glory of RvR combat before the rest of the world!
Indeed I am excited, and as soon as the NDA is lifted, I will be able to tell you ALL about the preview weekend a day or two after it concludes.
The Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Collector’s Edition Item Codes are now available to put into your account, so if you have them, head on over to https://accounts.eamythic.com/ and put them in!
Nail their Xbox to a tree!
That is what this Mechanicsville, Virginia father did. Apparantly his three sons repeatedly and often displayed poor behavior while playing their Xbox. My only thoughts are: dad is going to be forking up the money for a nice new Xbox 360.

Warhammeronline.com has been keeping us updated with announcements that will provide you with a ton of useful information, so remember to keep checking back here, as we make sure to get new information to you as quikly as possible.
CE Pre-Order Item Codes are not active in the Account Center.
Currently, players may only enter their Open Beta keys and Head Start keys. No other keys and offers are accepted at this time.
This does not apply to SE which have one code for both the head start and items codes.
There is a lot of misconception about what is happening today (Friday the 15th).
Today is not the start of Open Beta nor Preview Weekend. You will have advanced notice to these dates and as of yet we have not announced them. The only thing occurring today is that Mythic will be activating all Pre-Order (Collector?s Edition & Standard Edition) Open Beta and Head Start codes.
All CE testers who have applied a code will be invited to preview weekend, regardless of computer specs or association. In addition to CE all current closed beta participants will be participating in Preview Weekend and as an added bonus up to the first 50 thousand SE Open-Beta accounts registered on the Mythic Account Center will also be invited to join in the fun for this stress test (Preview Weekend).
Unfortunately, and this bugged me quite a bit, any characters created during the head start will have access to the exclusive faces. However, they cannot change their face until the CE Product Key is entered. The answer will be obvious once you see it in action, but for now let me try to explain. Players will be able to create and play their head start characters, however, during the headstart they will not have access to the in game bonuses provided with the collectors edition. Once a CE product code is associated with their account they will be able to use them post launch, this includes everything from the exclusive faces to the cloaks and everything included within the CE even on characters made during the head start.
The Beta Center and Mythic Account Center are separate tools. In preparation for live, Mythic is phasing out the Beta Center. The new Mythic Account Center (current Dark Age subscribers will already have it) will serve as your portal to all your Mythic subscriptions. If you have not done so already you do not need to apply a code to your Beta Center account, all invitations will be handled via the Account Center.
Head over to https://accounts.eamythic.com/ and put in your pre-order codes now!
What the heck is this? I do not even know. Here is what I have gathered.
All of you who, like me, are counting down the minutes until you will finally get to play war can indulge in a little bit of Realm vs. Realm battle before WAR even goes live. In Road to WAR, each realm is out to destroy the other realm, as the game goes normally. The main objective is achieving a preemptive victory at the onset of the Age of Reckoning. The Winning Realm will be receiving rewards (?spoils of war?) that can, and will, be used in the live game after release. There will also be special rewards that will be distributed to the top players. Each week on the Road to WAR there will be featured ?Battles and Quests? allowing players to earn points towards in-game rewards.
Weekly awards are as follows: Players who participate in a battle and are part of the winning Realm will receive what is called ?Victory Points,? if they meet the requirements of that week’s battle objectives. They may also receive a ?trophy? that appears in their ?Trophy Room.? There will also be a trophy for being part of the winning Realm overall. After each battle, participating players in the winning Realm will earn Victory Points. Others may receive Bonus Victory Points for meeting certain battle objectives.
Grand Prize is as follows: ?Never-Ending Bowl of Custard? and a unique Player Title. After the final battle, the Realm that has control over the greatest number of regions (overall) will receive a special in-game prize that no one else can get in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (the afore-mentioned Never-Ending Bowl of Custard) and a special player title. ?The custard may be eaten or hurled at an enemy, and will always be replenished.? In addition, when the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning servers go live, the capital city for either Order or Destruction will be placed at Rank 2, depending on which one wins overall in Road to WAR.
And for those of you who only care about your selves, the individual prizes: ?Signet of the Cursed Company.? Individual honors will also be given for the top Gold earners, best recruiters, and other top competitors throughout the Road to WAR. These players will receive a special in-game item (the Signet of the Cursed Company) to use during launch.
So head over to http://www.road-to-war.com and start playing!
A lot of excitement and complaints have been going around Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning forums across the internet. I am going to focus on those related to BETA and release.
First, there were the eight hundred thousand (plus) BETA applications for CLOSED BETA. Many of us were excited to get in to the CLOSED BETA. Many of us, including me, did not.
Second, there were the Collectors Edition (CE) pre-orders. The CE pre-order promised OPEN BETA access, Live Game Head Start, bonus in-game items, and a slew of aesthetics for both characters, and the consumer?s desk area (including but not limited to an unpainted miniature for the Table Top game, and some books). You get all this for a grand eighty dollars.
Then Mythic brings us the regular pre-orders. The regular pre-orders promised OPEN BETA access, live game head start, bonus in-game items?wait, stop. That is the same as the CE pre-orders! This raised a lot of anger, particularly in me, because I spent the money to pay for the CE, and being a freelance writer, I really do not make a lot of money at all. If I had known I was going to get all the same stuff for the regular pre-order I definitely would not have gotten the CE. Many felt the same, and so Mythic decided to give all of us CE pre-orders access to the last branch of CLOSED BETA, something they call ?Preview Weekend,? and an extra day of Live Game Head Start. Ok, that is a little better.
So as the last branch of CLOSED BETA approaches, Mythic decides ?Oh yeah, not ALL of the CE pre-orders are going to make it. Sorry!? I did not make it. The reasoning was due to computer system requirements for the CLOSED BETA. As previously stated, I do not make very much money, and thus do not have a very up-to-date computer. I will admit I am running on a computer that is not very adequate to modern gaming.
Through all these let downs, I still feel that WAR will be what I have been waiting for, at least until Darkfall comes out (which is?never?).
